This was my first time at Fontano Subs. Up to now, J.P. Graziano's was my favorite sub but Fontano has changed my opinion. The Blockbuster sub was outstanding with lots of meat, fresh vegetables and the bread was great!

Fontano's is a true gem--a classic old-school Italian deli that's hard to come by in the city these days. It has a charming, old-fashioned vibe that makes you feel right at home. Their Italian sub is the BEST in the city! I love it and highly recommend. While the place is no-frills, the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. I absolutely love this place and always recommend it to anyone nearby or just passing through. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this delightful spot!

Amazing subs, very consistent with good taste. I love the corned beef sub. Im so happy to be working in the area so I can do lunch here often.

My first time here & I was not disappointed. They're generous with the meat and toppings and the guys making my sandwich were super nice. Service was nonexistent at the register but I didn't expect much anyways so it didn't bother me. I dined in and surprisingly it never got too packed. It is a market as well but it's cozy and super easy to navigate.

The subs are amazing always fresh, quick and good. Nice little eatery should you choose to dine. Service is quick. Nestled in the UIC neighborhood.

This is a Chicago classic! Not too many places like this left in the city. It is an old school deli, no frills. Quality meats and cheeses, and I love their hot giardiniera. I'm a fan of the Caputo, has a good kick from the pepperoni. But you can't go wrong with any of their subs. Friendly service and you can count on getting in and out quickly.

Incredible sandwiches, possibly best I've had. Went in around 11:30am on a Saturday. Service was very fast. We ordered the Blockbuster and the meatball sub 8" to split between 2. We couldn't finish and saved the leftovers for later. The blockbuster was so good. Order it with mayo and the oil. Messy but was delicious. The meatball was amazing too. Will be returning for both

Loved this place! Tucked away in a neat little. Chicago neighborhood.....the sandwiches here are fantastic. When the cops are in line getting their lunch here....you know you're at the right place to eat! Great place....absolutely great place!
